Walks

Woodbastwick - Left out of the car park, 10 minutes walk
A beautiful village with 19th century cottages, a lovely green with a thatched well house, and the medieval, thatched Church of St. Fabian and St. Sebastian.  Stop by the Woodforde's brewery tap, the Fur and Feather, which has a great selection of real ales. Woodforde's also has a shop on-site and offers tours around the brewery.

Salhouse - Right out of the car park, 10 minutes walk
In Salhouse is Salhouse All Saints Church, which dates from the early fifteenth century and is also accessible by public footpath through the fields surrounding Salhouse. There is the newly refurbshed pub, The Stag on Lower Street, serving food and pizza and also newly refurbished for 2023 is The Lodge on Vicarage Road, which also serves food.

Drive

Ranworth - Left out of the car park, 10 minutes drive
Park by the Staithe overlooking Malthouse Broad, and follow the boardwalk to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust's floating Broads Wildlife Centre. Nearby, past the beautiful thatched village hall, is the Church of St. Helen's. Known as 'The Cathedral of the Broads' this church affords magnificent views from the top of the tower. After the climb, recover at the church tearooms, or walk back to the Staithe and visit The Granary Stores and Tea Shop, and The Maltsters pub.

South Walsham - 5 minutes drive beyond Ranworth
A typical Broadland village, with two churches in the same churchyard, a pleasant green, and traditional houses. You'll also find Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden with a lovely mix of wild spaces and beautiful gardens, leading down to South Walsham Inner Broad. There's also a gift shop and tea rooms.

Acle - 10 minutes drive beyond South Walsham
An old market town, Acle sits by the road to Gt. Yarmouth, and on the edge of the great, flat expanse of Berney Marshes. Acle has a good variety of independent shops and places to eat and drink.
