Guided Tours & Events at Salhouse Broad
Discover: Water and Woodland:
Join Salhouse Broad's Ranger on the boat to learn about Salhouse Broad and the River Bure. We'll then drop you in the capable hands of the Hoveton Great Broad Nature Trail's Warden, who'll show you round the boardwalk pointing out interesting species local to the area.
£11 per person.

Equinox and Solstice Events:
Choose between SUP Yoga, bushcraft or sunset canoeing, start 2 hours before sunset, enjoy the last of the sun either while doing your activity, then join up together at the end to watch the sunset around a fire with a drink and a snack. All activites are suitable for beginners.

BBQ at the Broad:
The Hungry Otter presents BBQ at the Broad.
Every Thursday for six weeks starting July 23rd (July 30th, August 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th) from 4 - 7 pm
Grab a burger; plus the regular great coffee, cakes and ice cream.
Bring a blanket, bring your family, enjoy the view and fill your bellies!
Guided tours at Hoveton Great Broad Nature Trail
All walks start at the Salhouse Broad moorings, followed by a short boat trip upstream to the Hoveton Great Broad Nature Trail, where we'll meet your guide.
Bat Walk: Join us and a bat expert on a boat trip to the Hoveton Great Broad Nature Trail as evening falls. We'll walk around the Trail, listening for these nocturnal aeronauts on high-tech detectors, learning about their lives as we go.
Adult: £12, Child: £6. Includes refreshments.

Dawn Chorus Walk: Listen to the sound of birdsong as the sun rises, throwing shadows through the trees, learning about the species that call this special place home. Gain exclusive access to the Nature Trail before anyone else is even awake! Warm up over a Full English Breakfast provided locally.

Wild Flower Walk: Herb robert, marsh valerian, yellow-flag iris, common bedstraw, enchanters nightshade. Just a few of the species you might see on this lovely walk around the Nature Trail, accompanied by the Warden.

Butterflies and Dragonflies Walk: The stunning Hoveton Great Broad Nature Trail is the perfect place to learn about and enjoy two of our most colourful and interesting insect groups: beautiful butterflies and deadly dragonflies.

Conservation and restoration: A short boat trip along the river on our ferry will take you to Hoveton Great Broad Nature Trail, a tranquil spot only accessible by boat. Here, take a stroll around the boardwalk with the Warden, watching and listening out for the seasonal flora and fauna, and learning about the conservation of the Broads and the innovative Hoveton Great Broad Restoration Project.
