Canoes will be let out on a ‘first come, first served basis’ for a

This year’s Green Boat Show is bigger, better and GREENER than ever before! Now in its 7th year the show is the longest running boat show in the whole of the UK showcasing sustainable “low carbon” boating, green energy and environmentally-friendly practices. There will be a variety of stands at the show with plenty of opportunities to get out on the water to experience 'green' boating. Meet the Salhouse Broad Ranger at the water's edge for a short boat trip across the Broad and up river to Hoveton Great Broad Nature Trail, a tranquil spot only accessible by boat. From here we will join the Warden and bat expert for a walk around the boardwalk, using bat detectors to find and track the bats. Hot drinks will be provided. Board the Ferry at Broad moorings. Booking necessary, limited places available. Bring a torch!

Join us on this exclusive visit to the Bure Marshes National Nature Reserve, home to a variety of wildlife and habitats including swallowtails, marsh harriers and much more. Enjoy a relaxing guided paddle downstream in a canoe, then meet the Reserve Manager for a guided walk before returning to Salhouse Broad by canoe. Spend approximately half the time paddling, and half walking. All canoeing equipment and safety talk included. Meet at Broad moorings.
Please wear or bring boots. Mozzie spray advisable/ cover up.
If you would like to bring a camera/ binoculars, dry bags are available for these and other valuables.

With over 300 moths on our species list, why not join us for a magical night of mothing. From Ruby Tiger to Webb’s Wainscot on our books, there’ll probably be a new moth come and visit on the night. Take part in the Salhouse Broad Raft Race: teams of four race against each other to claim the title of Champions of Salhouse Broad! Rafts are premade by us, so all you need to do is turn up in fancy dress (optional...) and race! Money raised will be put towards the conservation of Salhouse Broad and Nelson’s Journey, a charity supporting bereaved children in Norfolk. With lots of prizes on offer, fun and games, BBQ and a bar, the Raft Race promises to be a grand day out for all the family! Contact us to enter a team or for more details.
New for 2012 – continue the fun into the evening: stay with us for an evening of broadside musical enjoyment. BBQ and bar available. Let the music waft over you as the sun sets on the Broad.
First race at 2pm, final somewhere between 4-5pm. Music starts at 6pm.
